You can find out which AVCS Base and Update CDs you need to install for your ENCs from many sources. These include:

Full Schedule A - You can download a Full Schedule A (PDF) from the AVCS tab of a Fleet Manager licence. This displays all of the holdings, expiry dates and Base / Update CD information for that AVCS licence.

- Order Schedule A - You will receive an Order Schedule A (PDF) within the .Zip permit file received when an order has been placed. The order Schedule A displays the expiry dates and Base / update CD information for the ordered cells.

Weekly Update Schedule A -  You will receive an AVCS Weekly Update Schedule A (PDF) within the .Zip permit file attached to the Weekly Update email. The Weekly Update Schedule A displays the expiry dates and Base / Update CD information for the cells affected by the Weekly Update permit re-issue.

- Fleet Manager - You can see which AVCS Base / Update CDs are needed from the Fleet Manager Catalogue page (Product Management > Catalogue) or in the View Holdings screen of a licence record.

Instructions for finding out the Base / Update CD information in Fleet Manager

Below are instructions for how to find out which AVCS Base / Update CD is needed for a cell in Fleet Manager:

Go to either Product Management > Catalogue or Licence Management > Licences > View a licence then click on View Holdings. Click on the file icon to the left of the cell name to display further more information about the cell

You will then see the details of the CD(s) required to install the cell on an ECDIS. Below are instructions for identifying which CD the cells is on.

  • How to identify if a cell on Update CD only

In this example, EE213053 is a newly released cell and the data is only available on the AVCS Update CD, so the Base CD column is blank.  The week number (39) shown in the Update CD column relates to the first week's Update CD that the data for the cell can be found on.  So, for a customer who has just added EE213053 to their licence, they will require only an Update CD from Week 39 or later to install the data for the cell on their ECDIS.

  • How to identify if a cell is on a Base CD and has an update on an Update CD

In this example, your customer would require both the most recent AVCS Base CD1 and an Update CD from Week 36 onwards to install the data for cell EE213022 in their ECDIS system.

  • How to identify if a cell on the Base CD only
In this example, your customer would only require the most recent AVCS Base CD 1 in order to install the date for EE213001 as no updates have been issued for this cell since the AVCS Base CDs were last issued.
