ADP Secure Channel Error
Reason: Program displayed an error
Problem: f:\ci_aws\ws\26067\source\adp2019\libraries\src\winx\httprequest.cpp(100): Secure Channel Error

We are aware of an issue effecting ADP Users with PCs running Windows 7 and Windows 8.0 operating systems, when attempting to update ADP via Internet method they receive a Secure Channel Error similar to the above.

After investigating this is due to the operating systems not having TLS Version 1.2 enabled by default.

Windows 7 Operating System:

Microsoft have a Support article with a fix for Windows 7 Users that enables TLS Version 1.2. The attached document has a link to the Microsoft Support Article and where to download the fix.

Users may need the assistance of their IT Support to implement the fix.

Please Note Microsoft no longer support Windows 7 so we encourage Users to upgrade to a supported Operating System.

Windows 7 Users can still update via email / Download from the ADP Updating website and Update Disc.

Windows 8.0 Operating System:

After our investigation we were unable to find a download / fix provided by Microsoft for this Operating System.
As this an issue with the OS and the TLS Version 1.2 not being enabled, any Users wishing to use Internet Updating would need to contact their I.T Support to investigate and attempt to enable TLS 1.2.

Please Note Microsoft no longer support Windows 8.0 so we encourage Users to upgrade to a supported Operating System.
Windows 8.0 does also not meet minimum system requirements listed on the admiralty.co.uk website Here

Windows 8.0 Users can still update via email / Download from the ADP Updating website and Update Disc.
